Le BARON du Design

Sam Baron, the designer behind a wonder of things, has an amazing resume, and he is still so young. (to me at least, he's born in 1976) . This french creature graduated from Ecole des Beaux Arts de Saint Etienne with a degree in Design, in 1999 following that he received a post-graduate degree in Design from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs de Paris and at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Saint Etienne in 2001.
He won the Prize for Best Installation in Tokyo with an exhibition entitled Rendez-Vous.  He then spent a year part of the design department of Fabrica.   He has a collection of ceramic plates exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt Museum of New York and is sold worldwide by Bosa called “slices of Design” .
Sam Baron's list of clients include Louis Vuitton, L’Oreal Group, Sephora, Musee des Arts Decoratifs de Paris, Renault, De Beers London, Vista Alegre/Atlantis Portugal, Baccarat, Vitra, Maxalto and Christofle.
(A ya yaay! what a lovely list!)
In 2007 he won Grand Prix de la Creation de La Ville de Paris, and the Createur de l’Annee in 2010 promoted by Maison et Objets.
The first two images are a collection of his latest work for Bosa.
I truely admire such talent.
Sooo much more to see on his site

ZARA HOME

Since the weather in Kuwait just keeps getting better, I had to find some table sets to use outdoors.  Without a second thought I go to ZARA HOME.
Et Voila... I found lovely colorful plates, and mixed and matched as much as I wanted.

Atelier Fornasetti

Certainly there are things I like and things I dislike from Atelier Fornasetti. Nonetheless, there is unique craftsmanship and personality in each object. This always makes me look forward to knowing what's in store. The majority of things are re-editions of originals created by Piero Fornasetti from the 50's to the beginning of the 80's, or re-inventions by Barnaba Fornasetti from his archives.
