A Friend's Home
Interior of the week.
One of the first homes to be shown in my blog is here. My friend, I'll call her Mrs FA loves to rework interiors. Her first project is her sister's living room. She gets things from Cairo, Egypt and Turkey. When I'm there I just want to sit by the window and have a cuppa coffee, its so cozy.

Ramadan's Best Non Alcoholic Drink
I bet every household in the Middle East is stacking up on Vimto as we speak. The sweetest fruity (artificially so i think) drink in town, Vimto consists of blackcurrant and raspberry concentrate. For best results add 100ml of Vimto to 500ml of iced cold water.
Et Voila,
"Stirred, not Shaken" ....yet James Bond would have it othewise.

The cutest little CAFE in Kuwait
10 .Oh. 8 is the name of the newest cafe in Kuwait City. It is located just around Dasman round about. I had breakfast there and just fell in Love with the place. It is so small and cozy, which is refreshing since (blushing, I live in malls... not by choice , not by choice!) Back to 10.oh.8. I love thier food which is a mix of the owners' favorite dishes from around the globe. I should go there now. This is my new hang out!
You guys should try it out too.

Your phone is your key
How cool is this, replacing your house keys with your phone!
The kit for this is called Lockitron.
It works by sending signals from your phone through the company servers and then to a small device that plugs into your internet router. This allows your door to lock or unlock
I guess smart phones are the key to everything these days.
You can find this @ Lockitron

Great Lemon Bars
It's not that difficult to make lemon bars,
and you won't go wrong
when you follow recipes by the barefoot contessa.

when you follow recipes by the barefoot contessa.
So I got the recipe from the food network, and voila, home made lemon squares.
(I added a little double cream on the side for my serving)

It's Napket time
Napket restaurant launched an exhibition this week to support and encourage the work of young Kuwaiti photographers. The exhibition under the name "Camera is Ready...Prepare the Flash" is part of the restaurant's social responsibility plans. Napket is seeking to empower Kuwaiti youth by providing a powerful platform for expression through creativity and art. The restaurant's chic and busy location is ideal for providing exposure for the young photographers and turning the spotlight on their work. The exhibition includes eight rising stars of Kuwait's contemporary photography scene and will continue for two weeks.

Let Heston drive you Mad
Pizza with pesto, goat cheese, mashroom and truffles mm....
Once my husband picks up Heston Blumenthal's cook book, In Search of Perfection, I know I'm in for a treat. So, we are having pizza. But this is no ordinary pizza, this is Heston's pizza, and for that we buy a pressure cooker just to make 'the' tomato sauce. The pizza dough is half done over night. Can't share more details since I ain't the cook. I just eat what is being cooked.
The verdict: excellent pizzaSaturday, July 2, 2011
